Meet Anna
A proud candidate for the Saugus Union School District Board Trustee, Area 2
Anna believes the Saugus Union School District community deserves transparent and effective leadership now and someone who believes that kids and parents come first. She has lived in this community for over 35 years, attending Mitchell Elementary, Sierra Vista Junior High, and Canyon High school.
“I know that I can contribute successfully to a better family-first environment and provide our kids with the resources to be successful.”
– Anna Griese
A Strong Background
My daughter will be a 5th grader at Northpark Elementary and my motivation to run is because of her. She and other kids deserve parent representation and a voice in the decision-making process. It is important to recognize that our current Board of Trustees no longer have school-aged kids within the Saugus Union School District and how imperative it is to have parent representation. After experiencing the lack of leadership, and implementation of policies during COVID, we must hold our superintendent and the current board accountable, empower parents in education and create greater educational opportunities for kids.
School board members are locally elected public officials entrusted with governing a community’s public schools. The role of the school board is to ensure that school districts are responsive to the values, beliefs, and priorities of their communities. They excite this by providing oversight to their one employee-the superintendent.
As a board trustee, my efforts will be focused on parental rights and representation, transparency and collaboration, and fiscal responsibility. Our Superintendent will be held accountable for the values of this community. The communities of SUSD have experienced firsthand the board trustees and superintendent’s inability to provide the best educational setting for our children and are incapable of instituting policies that are for the benefit of families within SUSD.
